Henry A. Gabathuler

Henry Gabathuler is a partner in the Patent and Litigation Practice Group at Leason Ellis, where he counsels clients ranging from start-ups to large technology companies on all aspects of patent prosecution, intellectual property portfolio development and licensing, and litigation. Henry is a registered patent attorney and has extensive experience securing patent protection in the U.S. and worldwide. He also handles patent, trademark, copyright, antitrust and general business litigation matters, at both the district court and appellate court levels and often in a leading role. His patent prosecution and litigation experience spans a broad range of technologies including computer hardware and software, consumer electronics, telecommunications, industrial systems, mechanical devices, medical devices and pharmaceutical products. Additionally, Henry regularly counsels clients on matters including, patentability and freedom-to-operate opinions, IP-related business transactions and licensing agreements, infringement and invalidity opinions and IP due-diligence investigations.

Henry’s passion for emerging technology, exploring innovative ideas, and startup business opportunities led him to practice intellectual property law and he enthusiastically applies that same passion and entrepreneurial spirit to his work and clients. As a patent attorney, engineer, litigator and successful entrepreneur, Henry provides a unique perspective when counseling clients on the various intellectual property issues that might arise during the life cycle of an idea or business. Henry holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Lafayette College and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. During law school, he interned with the Honorable William H. Walls of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
