Safet Metjahic is an intellectual property attorney with more than 27 years of patent experience.  Safet provides strategic guidance and legal counseling to clients (ranging from industry leaders to emerging growth technology companies) on all aspects of intellectual property development, protection, commercialization and enforcement.  He focuses his practice on intellectual property portfolio development and management, technology transfer and licensing, and post-grant ex-parte and inter-parte Patent Office proceedings.

Safet has in-depth knowledge and experience in a wide range of complex technologies, including software, network security, telecommunications, database and file management, display systems, semiconductor fabrication and testing, navigation systems, control systems, surgery and surgical devices, fintech, business method, and mechanical arts.

Safet routinely conducts intellectual property audits and guides clients in creating and implementing strategies for leveraging and commercializing intellectual property assets.  He has negotiated and drafted a wide range of intellectual property related agreements, including licensing, collaboration, joint-development, partnership, purchase/sale, manufacturing, services, and complex supply chain agreements.

Safet frequently represents clients in assessing commercial and intellectual property risks in acquisitions and technology transfer deals.  He conducts patent infringement and enforceability/validity investigations, as well as product clearance studies.
